For the past 19 years, the Forensics Engineering Conference at UT Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering has brought together the best of academia and industry for an exciting exchange on advances in forensics engineering.
The 2025 conference carries special importance, celebrating longtime Lead Faculty David Fowler, Ph.D., and his rich legacy. This year’s conference will be led by Ryan Kalina, Ph.D., P.E., vice president, Forensix Consulting and lecturer, Cockrell School Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering.
The 2025 conference topics span real-world case studies, lessons from significant structural forensic failures, ethical issues and the impact of weather on structures. Sessions are presented by industry and academic engineering experts.
The Forensics Engineering Conference is designed for civil, mechanical and architectural engineers. UT engineering students can attend online for FREE.

Meet the 2025 Forensics Conference Steering Committee

Attendees will earn a digital badge and 1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), including one hour of ethics. Attendees must attend the entire conference to earn CEUs and the digital badge.
CEUs are applicable towards the continuing education requirements for PE license renewal in Texas. These hours may also be applicable towards license renewal requirements in other states.

Consider donating to the David and Maxine Fowler Endowed Excellence Fund in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering. Created to honor the Fowlers and legacy of Dr. Fowler, the funds donated will be used at the discretion of the Cockrell School Department Chair of Civil, Architectural & Environmental Engineering to advance the teaching, research and outreach missions of the Cockrell School of Engineering.
